I love learning new technologies and playing with images, having dabbled in photography and to a greater degree in videomaking. I also have a great love for obsolete technologies and have been playing around with different cameras, both still and moving picture.
I have done a lot of hobby photography over the years, much of which is not available digitally, as I have up until recently worked solely with film photography. Digital photography is relatively new to me, and I am enjoying the learning process.
Much of my experimentation has been with my cellphone, a little HTC Dream that produces surprisingly beautiful photographs. I have been documenting my daily world as seen through my phone over at my blog, Cameracratic.
I still do love film, however, and have especially begun to fall in love with medium format lomo photography. Michelle and I received a Holga last year as a gift from friends and I have spent many wonderful hours playing with that. Here are a few of my Holga shots so far.
We have recently acquired a Voigtlander with which I look forward to experimenting as well.
I have created a number of short videos, ranging from those I planned, storyboarded, shot and edited, to those I edited from collected or found footage.

My Coney Island Baby |
Shoot the Freak: A Coney Island Memory Project: This summer was Coney Island's last season of operation before being redeveloped. Coney Island holds an important place in the history of New York is very special to Michelle, a native Brooklynite, and so this year we shot some footage of the rides while they were still open and then after the park had been shut down. Listen to some of the interviews Michelle recorded with her family on the Shoot the Freak website. A Symphony of St. Jamestown is a movie about the St. Jamestown neighborhood in Toronto. Michelle and I are currently in the planning stage. The movie will focus on the sound of the neighborhood, and we hope to begin gathering sound samples this Spring.
